I am a pretty new blogger but I have been getting traffic to my blogs (2) through article writing. I submit articles to Ezinearticles and Article Marketer. Those articles do send a lot of traffic.

My next step is to put an opt-in box on my blogs and offer a free ebook or report.

I link to my blog in the forums in my signature.

I link to my blogs from my websites.

I also post ads on US Free ads for each bog and each affiliate product.

Sounds to me like you're using Travis Sago's Bum Marketing Method. I have also employed some of these tactics with my blogs. I've had success with certain niches and crashed and burned with others, same with the articles. I guess it all just depends.
